Growing older comes with a lot of things to consider, and one of those is the place we want to live out our golden years. We want it to be a place that is very comfortable, and that is readily available and perfectly centered around the hobbies and scenic views we cherish so deeply.
This topic almost reminds me of the 2012 movie “Still Mine” Directed by Michael McGowan about a loving husband that wants to build he and his wife’s last home but struggle with local authorities over permits, etc.
You want everything perfect for your last home (We don’t mean to sound depressing!), and that’s EXACTLY what Architect Jon Nystrom wanted for he and his wife, so he built it and even won an award for it in FineHomebuilding Houses Awards in 2013 for Best Retirement Home. Nystrom mentions that his dream was to live comfortably in a timber-framed dwelling in their small town of Boerne, Texas.
